What’s been going on this week?
A 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO has become the UK’s most valuable car and very nearly the most expensive car in the world. Selling for a cool £20,200,000 it made its previous owner a princely profit as it was bought in 2008 for £15.7 million. Only 39 250 GTO’s were ever produced and all were hand made. As a result there are no two the same. Official BHP figures were “around 300” and with an 174mph top speed, it was the car of its generation. Unfortunately there are no press pictures so I thought I'd share a video instead, enjoy!
BMW have unveiled their new M6 which will be available as a coupe and convertible. The new model will be the most powerful super coupe in BMW's history and will use the same powerplant as the F10 M5 which goes on sale this summer, producing 560 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque (680 Nm) at 1500 rpm. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration takes 4.4 seconds and its top speed has been limited to 155 mph, but with the M Driver’s Package, the vehicle can reach 190 mph. BMW also claim the new M6 is a third less thirsty than before, quoting a 28.5mpg combined economy figure. They will both make their maiden appearance at next month's Geneva Motor Show. Check out the pictures below:

Staying with the Geneva Motor Show and another car set to make its debut is the the Nissan Invitation Concept. The production model will launched with a sub-100g/km CO2 engine and will go on sale with the Micra and Juke from 2013, no word yet on price.
Finally this week is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's the new Bentley Continental V8! Last week it made its eagerly awaited public debut in Munich, flown by a helicopter to the city's SkyLounge. Lets be honest here there's no better way to announce the V8's arrival than to fly it over the nation of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi and drop it onto one of the country's most stunning landmarks!
Have a good weekend!
