Today Maranello unveiled the F12Berlinetta ahead of it's official debut at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show. It is being touted as the first in a new generation of Ferrari V12s and wow, what a way to start!! The powerplant will be an all new V12, delivering unprecedented performance, it has been designed with extreme aerodynamics and classic themes.
Ferrari continue to innovate and they have revolutionised their traditional transaxle layout. The wheelbase is shorter and the seats, dash and engine sit lower in the chassis assisting the extreme performance of the F12Berlinetta. The layout of the rear suspension and gearbox have enabled Ferrari engineers to reduce the rear volume of the car, resulting in a more compact car with a lower centre of gravity.
It looks absolutely stunning (as you'd expect from a new Ferrari) and appears to be a worthy replaced for the 599. Key specifications are:
Engine
Type: 65-degree V12
Total displacement: 6262 cc
Maximum power output: 740 CV at 8500 rpm
Maximum torque: 690 Nm at 6000 rpm
Dimensions
Length: 4618 mm
Width: 1942 mm
Height: 1273 mm
Performance
Maximum speed: over 340 km/h
0-100 km/h: 3.1 seconds
